PHILLIN

Guide

Phillin matches teams that are short of players with people nearby who want a game. Organisers post games. Players claim spots. Everyone plays.

FOR PLAYERS

Find and join a game

The HOME feed shows games in your city, for your sports, that still need a player. Filter by Today, This week or My level.

1
Tap a game card to see the details: venue, kickoff, kit and level.
2
Tap an open spot and confirm. You are locked in.
3
The organiser gets notified straight away.
Games leave the feed at kickoff. Joining closes when the game starts.

Check in at the venue

Checking in is how you prove you showed up, and it is how you earn XP. Every Phillin venue has a QR poster.

1
Arrive at the venue. Check-in opens 60 minutes before kickoff.
2
Tap SCAN in the menu bar and point your camera at the poster.
3
Done. Your attendance is confirmed and the XP lands instantly.
Playing somewhere without a poster (a custom venue)? Just turn up. Your organiser confirms who showed when they rate everyone after the game.
No camera, or using Phillin in a browser? Every poster prints a short code under the QR. Open SCAN and type it in instead. Same check-in, same XP.

XP and levels

XP is your track record as a number. You earn it by showing up and playing well. You lose it by pulling out or not showing.

XP adds up to levels. New players start part-way to Level 2. Reach Level 2 and guests unlock: you can bring a mate to any game you have joined. Your guests are your responsibility. They earn you no bonus XP, and if you or your guests pull out, the penalty lands on you.

Streaks, rating and reliability

Streaks are awards you win and lose automatically based on your recent play. There are seven, from Regular Ringer (a game every week for 4 weeks) to Fan Favourite (a perfect 5 rating in each of your last 5 games). They light up on your profile while you hold them and fade out when the run ends. Tap any streak on your profile to see exactly what keeps it alive.

Your rating is the average of the scores organisers give you after each game. Reliability is the share of your commitments you actually showed up to. Together they tell organisers what kind of player they are getting.

Repeated no-shows or a very low rating can flag your profile, and a flagged profile with empty XP can be locked until an admin reviews it. Show up and this never comes up.

Your profile

Tap your initials in the top corner to open your profile. The pencil edits your details: city, phone, and the sports you want to be pinged about. Your private XP log lists every gain and loss, visible only to you. The Device card shows whether notifications and the camera are switched on, and fixes them in one tap.

FOR ORGANISERS

Posting a game

Organisers get the blue + circle in the top bar. Their games live on the GAMES screen, and the yellow + button starts a new post.

1
Fill in the sport, city, venue, kickoff, kit and level.
2
Set how many male and female spots you need.
3
Tap POST. Phillin pings every matching player nearby.
4
Watch the spots fill. You get a banner for every join and withdrawal.
Playing somewhere not listed? Choose Custom as the venue and type the name. Players get the address and a map link.

Managing your game

Confirmed ringers appear under each post with their level and gender. You can remove a ringer if you need to, edit the post while it is live, or cancel the game with a note. Cancelling notifies every locked-in player.

After the game

1
The post moves to RATE once the game has kicked off.
2
Score every ringer from 1 to 5. Ratings drive their XP.
3
You have 24 hours to adjust a score if you change your mind.
Ratings keep the whole thing honest. A No show rating is how the system knows someone let the team down.

Venue QR posters

Every listed venue has its own check-in poster, found in the admin venue screen. Print it and put it where players walk in. The code never expires, and it only works for players with a spot, from 60 minutes before their game.

Still stuck? Head to Support in the profile footer and get in touch. Phill reads everything.
